Hey everyone, after a year away, I finally tried to re-download Battlefield 4. It’s been really frustrating. The game crashes when you die in multiplayer, disconnects unexpectedly with messages like “please make sure port XXXX is open,” and won’t let me reconnect to a server because it thinks it needs to close first. In the browser, it shows “playing battlefield 4 on PC” even though the game isn’t actually running. It refuses to launch the browser plugin and keeps insisting I “join server” without connecting. What’s odd is that searching for these problems brings up old forum threads from 2013 where others reported the same issues. Has anyone else faced these issues around 2016? Since then, I’ve switched to Windows 10 and used a GTX 1060 instead of an R9 290.

It might be a damaged file or outdated drivers. Consider optimizing the game and, if necessary, reinstall it.

I fixed the game using Origin, and all the drivers are current. The issue where the game doesn’t launch at times suggests it’s not a GPU driver problem, but possibly linked to Windows 10.

I don't have access to your browsing history or current browser. Could you please specify which browser you're using?

You would search for it by using specific keywords or descriptions related to what you're trying to find.

This should open the Windows firewall settings.

It seems Chrome doesn't work well with Battlefield. I discovered this the hard way. Mozilla, Internet Explorer, and possibly Opera are the only ones that fit.

Really? That’s disappointing. It seems the least favored option was omitted entirely. Could there be a method to launch the plugin using another browser instead of sticking to the default settings?
