Hey guys im having trouble with my pc It could be my upgrade to the 290x or my upgrade to windows 10 Everything works fine until the screen goes black and restarts my pc This happens more often when gaming and editing images in Lightroom but sometimes random Is my psu broken ? Or is it a problem with win10, i will be downgrading to win7 to see if it was a hardware problem My system specs are AMD FX-8120 (stock clock) ASUS M5a97 (first revision) Kingston HyperX blue 1600mhz 8GB Corsair GS700 PSU Asus 290x dcu2 Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB And some WD drives Im also using a corsair mouse and keyboard K50 & M65

As discussed by GoodBytes, consider option A – a better cooler – or option B – a fan aimed at your PC to aid in cooling.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It seems your new setup is handling the heat differently—your CPU and GPU are drawing direct air from the side panel even when idle, causing random restarts. This isn’t related to power supply issues or overheating. You can play games for hours without trouble.

the issue continues and i notice my pc still doesn't start sometimes. this occurred twice after a random reboot—i unplugged power and connected the cpu fan to the motherboard's fan connector, and it booted again. odd since i've always used the fan controller without problems and never touched the cpu fan connector before.
