Hello tech lovers, it's the season again—time to power up and reset. I usually only reboot my PC after installing new hardware, but never before diving into a fresh system. Can I skip the reset and just use the built-in restore feature in Windows 10? Should I try a different method instead? Do I need the Windows 10 activation key for this process? Would you mind suggesting a free tool to grab a license from a USB drive? I might have some licenses left on this machine. Happy troubleshooting! Lighto

Ensure your key is linked to an MS account before reinstalling. If not, it should work again. It’s better to use a USB installer instead of the built-in restore or reset feature. You can’t format the drive you’re currently using.
