Restart Cycle/Device Recovery for New Computers
Hello, I set up two identical systems and both encountered the same problem. It’s puzzling, so I’m checking if others have faced this before. Details: CPU – Ryzen 7 5700G; Motherboards – Asus Prime B450M-A II Micro ATX AM4 and MSI B550M PRO-VDH Micro ATX AM4; both BIOS updated to latest version. Hardware – OLOy DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) at 3000 MHz, Crucial MX500 500GB SSD, Masterbox Q300L case, EVGA-BQ 600W PSU. I installed Windows updates and rebooted at the same stage. After recovery, I forced a restart into Windows 10, but it would reboot again after about 30 seconds. Initially assumed the motherboards were faulty, so I upgraded to better models, but the issue persists. Also tried a different Windows 10 USB with RUFUS and NTFS formatting. Any suggestions would be helpful. Found relevant threads here: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threa...st-2099497
Yeah...I am gonna try a fresh install and keep the PC disconnected from internet on first boot so it doesn't grab updates. Then disable auto driver updates with a GP and manually install latest versions from web. Will update if it fixes the issue. Thanks. 1
I’d aim to connect with the drivers on a separate machine and transfer them onto the system using a jump drive, so there’s no risk the PC will take them. I’ve got a bad feeling about Windows grabbing everything.
