So about two days ago I noticed very poor network performance on my PC. When the machine is powered on and connected to the router, speed drops significantly and latency spikes. Under normal conditions I see 80mb download and 8ms ping. If I turn off the PC or unplug the Ethernet cable, the problem disappears and service stabilizes. My ISP visited today and found loose cabling inside the telephone socket (since I’m in the UK with ADSL). Everything is fixed now, they were mistaken. I’ve tested the Ethernet cable with a basic tool and it’s fine. I can’t test my PC over Wi-Fi because most networks don’t support it. Could there be a virus or malicious software causing this? I ran a scan with Windows Defender but no threats appeared. I also tried a malware removal tool to make sure nothing is blocking the connection. I’m really confused and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

It seems your computer is overloading the router or consuming its bandwidth by disconnecting all devices from Wi-Fi and rerunning the test.

Changed the router's name and password but the problem persists with connected devices.
