I’m grateful to anyone who can offer insight into a perplexing issue I'm experiencing. My computer configuration includes an Intel Core i5-9400f processor, an MSI B360m Bazaoka motherboard, 16GB of ADATA DDR4 RAM running at 2666MHz, and an MSI GTX 1660 Ti Gaming X graphics card. I’ve consistently encountered performance issues, specifically noticeable frame drops and stuttering, across numerous games. Despite upgrading to a 144Hz G-Sync display from Acer, these problems persist even at high refresh rates and with G-Sync enabled. I've analyzed my system’s performance using MSI Afterburner, and CPU and GPU usage and temperatures appear normal. I’ve also experimented with various settings within the NVIDIA control panel, including texture filtering quality and power management mode, without any improvement. The Nvidia overlay is disabled, along with Windows Game Mode, Xbox Overlay, and Game DVR. I’ve even attempted using Windows Game Mode with this setting enabled, but the results remain unchanged. The stuttering consistently manifests in almost every game I play, with more pronounced frame drops occurring particularly in *Resident Evil 2* and *3 Remakes*, though it’s present in other titles as well. I'm becoming increasingly frustrated trying to diagnose the root cause of this problem and would appreciate any assistance you could provide.

Could you please report your frame rate and share a video demonstrating the issue?

Utilizing ShadowPlay and MSI Afterburner will allow you to display FPS, as well as other performance information directly on your screen during gameplay – this could assist in identifying the root cause.

Monitor your GPU and CPU utilization, along with their temperatures, alongside your FPS and frame time (including the minimum FPS). Low minimum FPS is frequently a contributing factor to stuttering.

To configure the monitoring data displayed on-screen, navigate to Afterburner settings through the small gear icon, then select the "Monitoring" tab. Ensure each desired feature is highlighted and that the “Show in On-Screen Display” box is checked while it’s blue.

Could you please report your frame rate and provide a video illustrating the issue?

Utilizing ShadowPlay and MSI Afterburner will enable you to display FPS and other performance metrics directly on your screen, potentially aiding in identifying the root cause.

Configure GPU and CPU usage alongside their temperatures, along with FPS and frame time—including minimum FPS—to visualize on-screen. Low minimum FPS is frequently a contributor to stuttering when it consistently dips too low.

To enable monitoring data to appear on-screen, navigate to Afterburner’s settings via the small icon resembling a gear, then select the “Monitoring” tab. Subsequently, select each desired feature and mark the "Show in On-Screen Display" box while it is highlighted in blue.

Could you please report your current frame rate and provide a video demonstrating the issue?

Using tools like ShadowPlay and MSI Afterburner, you can display FPS and other performance information directly on your screen during gameplay—this could assist in identifying the root cause.

Monitor your graphics card and processor utilization, along with their temperatures, alongside FPS and frame time (including minimum FPS). Low minimum FPS is frequently a culprit behind stuttering.

To enable on-screen monitoring data, navigate to the settings within Afterburner using the small gear icon, then select the Monitoring tab. Make sure each desired feature is highlighted and the “Show in On-Screen Display” checkbox is selected when it turns blue.

+1 precisely this. Additionally, attempt to close all unnecessary background applications and consider performing a clean boot.

What is your computer’s memory capacity – 16 gigabytes single stick, 8 gigabytes dual sticks, or another configuration?
