My hardware specifications are as follows: I have an older Intel Core i5 2500 processor (approximately ten years old), a GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card (about two years old), 8GB of RAM (also a decade old), and a Western Digital Black HDD with a capacity of 1TB (ten years old) alongside a smaller Western Digital Blue HDD offering 500GB storage (also ten years old). I’m utilizing an Evga liquid cooling system. My primary concern is a consistent problem I've experienced for the past two years: my frame rate significantly decreases when playing games like Fortnite, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, Destiny, CS:GO, and The Division, as well as when watching YouTube videos. This drop typically reduces my frame rate from 60 to somewhere between 57 and 58. I’ve attempted various troubleshooting steps, including toggling VSync on and off, updating my operating system and graphics card drivers, but the issue persists. I’m seeking assistance in resolving this ongoing problem.

Is your system tracking processor/graphics card and memory usage?
A decrease from 60 to 58-57 percent shouldn't represent a major problem...?
The 2500 model is clearly showing its limitations - and you’re highlighting games that primarily rely on processing power rather than graphics.
It's likely your 2500 is reaching its maximum capacity at 100%.
Because it’s a fixed configuration, you have limited options – primarily ensuring that no other software is running. A fresh operating system installation might also be beneficial, depending on the age of your current OS.
You would likely see a slight improvement with dual-channel memory (two 8GB sticks, or even two 4GB sticks) compared to a single 8GB stick, which is a reasonably inexpensive upgrade in 2019... however, you're working with a CPU approximately nine years old; it’s what it is.

A decrease from 60 to 58-57 levels shouldn't be a major concern...?
The 2500 model is undeniably showing its limitations – and you’re highlighting games that demand significant processing power more than anything else.
It's likely that your 2500 is reaching its maximum capacity at 100%.
Because it’s a fixed configuration, your options are somewhat restricted – primarily focusing on confirming that no other software is running. A fresh operating system installation could also provide some improvement, depending on the age of your current OS.

Initially, I employ MSI Afterburner. Subsequently, I recognize that a minor frame rate decrease in a game and competitive scenarios can significantly impair your accuracy. Although my i5 2500 is an outdated processor for modern games, I’ve observed on YouTube that individuals with similar hardware are experiencing smooth gameplay. Moreover, my central processing unit rarely exceeds 70% utilization during game sessions, and no background applications are active. I’ve thoroughly reinstalled Windows 10 multiple times (four times, to be precise), and I plan to acquire 32GB of 1600MHz RAM during Black Friday.
