Hey everyone, I've been experiencing some issues with my gaming PC. Sometimes it powers off completely, but other times it stays on for a few seconds with fans spinning but no video display. My specs are an Asus TUF Gaming B650 Plus Wi-Fi (bios updated), AMD 7700x, 32GB RAM, and I've tried both turning the CPU and GPU off/on. Still, crashes happen mainly when playing F1 2023, especially in the game menu. No crashes appear in Windows events, but stress tests suggest a power supply problem. I've run OCCT stability tests on all components, everything looks fine. The GPU temperature spikes to 91°C right away, which is high, but since it didn't crash, performance loss might be due to thermal throttling. After a while, when I run CPU and GPU tests for up to half an hour, the PC crashes again. I'm leaning toward a power supply issue. What other steps should I take to confirm or fix this?

It's a Corsair RM850, though I didn't say it was a new power supply. I remember picking it up during the most recent upgrade.

You seem to be experiencing thermal shutdown rather than power issues. The RM850 should handle the load well once the motherboard power is connected properly. Check if the CPU paste is applied correctly and whether you're using an air cooler or an AIO.

Everything works together, it's not a brand-new setup—it's been around a couple of years. I've played many games well, though some other models caused the PC to crash. The CPU is air-cooled using the big Noctua NH D15, and temperatures rise quickly, usually staying near 80°C under load with occasional brief spikes higher.

Time updated! I saw my GPU hitting the 110° hotspot right away during a game. After applying new thermal paste, it stayed below 91°, and the system became stable—gaining some extra frames.
