Hi, I’ve experienced frequent crashes while playing games and only during gameplay. My temperatures are normal, I have sufficient RAM and processing power, and I’ve updated my BIOS and reinstalled Windows. I'm unable to resolve this problem. Both the operating system and drivers are current.

I have a Ryzen 5 1500x processor, a GTX 1080Ti with 16GB of 3200MHz RAM, a 750W power supply. Please assist me.

Initially, the crashes prevented Windows from booting, leading me to suspect a failed SSD; I subsequently reinstalled Windows on an M.2 drive, which functioned correctly. However, after approximately 20 minutes of gaming, I encounter crashes. I can stream for extended periods or perform any other tasks without issue.

That’s unusual; black screens often aren’t directly caused by PSU problems, though they can be connected. Would you be able to obtain another unit to replace it and run tests? It would be beneficial to attempt this.

If the issue manifested as a Blue Screen of Death or a memory dump, that would likely point to your system's RAM. Considering you have two 8GB sticks, experimenting with them individually—testing each one—could reveal if the problem continues.

Subsequently, I’d suspect the graphics card and its drivers.

If you mention a system failure, does it simply power down and then automatically begin again? If this is the case, the most probable cause is your power supply unit. Please specify the manufacturer and product name of your device, as well as detailing your motherboard model.

The power supply unit (PSU) is a Corsair CX750, and the motherboard is an MSI B350M Pro-VDH. @keith12, I’ve owned this computer for approximately one year, and this is the first significant issue I've encountered; I suspect it might be related to Windows, although that's just a guess. My PC continues to operate when it crashes, occasionally displaying a black screen or freezing completely, but it prevents me from interacting with it, requiring a reset.

That’s unusual—a black screen often indicates a power supply problem, though it could also stem from other causes. Would you be able to obtain a replacement unit for testing purposes? It would be beneficial to attempt this.

If the issue presented as a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) or a system dump, then memory would likely be the culprit. Given that you have two 8GB sticks, isolating the problem could involve swapping them individually to observe if the issue continues.

Subsequently, I’d suspect the graphics card and its drivers.

I’ll need to test each stick individually since I've previously examined every component, though that was an oversight. I’ll update you on my progress. My memory is G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB at 3200MHz and it’s approximately seven months old. I recently purchased a Ryzen 7 2700X just a few days ago, but I still haven't selected a motherboard; I’m having difficulty choosing one. All other components will remain unchanged.

Have you recently installed any additional memory modules?
Processors possess a QVL (Qualified Vendor List) specifying authorized RAM manufacturers; verify that your RAM’s producer appears on this list.

Since February, everything had been functioning well until this issue began last week. The same problem persists. And the RAM is compatible; I verified this before purchasing, as Ryzen can be particular about memory modules.

EDIT: I’m now examining the timing of the RAM – perhaps this is the cause? 16-18-18-38-75-1 (tCAS-tRC-tRP-tRAS-tCS-tCR)
