Resolved – Having exhausted all options…
Following a recent hardware upgrade—including a new motherboard, graphics card, and SSD—my computer is experiencing intermittent shutdowns without accompanying error notifications. However, these crashes frequently occur during game execution, resulting in specific diagnostic codes: 'PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA', 'VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR', and ‘BUGCODE_NDIS_DRIVER’ (which appeared during a CPU stress test using 'JAM' software, and I attempted to resolve by disabling my wireless connection without success).
I performed a clean Windows installation onto the SSD using a USB drive, installing motherboard drivers from MSI. The graphics card stress test (using FurMark) ran successfully; I then removed and reinstalled the GPU drivers to investigate audio distortion from my monitor (which may or may not be connected). I have physically reconnected both the RAM and graphics card, and a memory diagnostic test for the RAM returned no errors. I’ve ensured my operating system is current and checked device driver updates through Device Manager. Furthermore, I lowered the RAM speed to 2800MHz in an attempt to mitigate the issue.
Over the last few days, I utilized Command Prompt to verify the integrity of my Windows system and hard drives, both of which showed no problems. I’ve eliminated the possibility of RAM causing issues by testing with individual sticks, consistently encountering ‘PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA’ and ‘VIDEO_SCHEDULER_INTERNAL_ERROR’. I attempted reinstalling the problematic game, but now the crash happens during installation rather than while playing.
I welcome any advice or troubleshooting steps you can suggest. Below are the system specifications:
CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 (cooled by a Noctua NH-U14S)
GPU - RX 5700 XT
MOBO – MSI B450I Gaming Plus AC
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz DDR4 (2x8GB)
Power Supply - CX650M
If a fresh installation was performed, and any drivers weren’t installed or Windows 10 hadn't updated them yet, would the issue still occur in that setup?
Are there any alternative graphics cards available for testing or could you obtain one temporarily?
If you attempt to utilize the GPU through the operating system's standard driver, you may encounter video issues.
If you performed a fresh installation, without installing graphics drivers or allowing Windows 10 to update them automatically, does the issue continue in that setup?
Are there any alternative graphics cards you could use or obtain for testing purposes?
Yes, the issue continues to remain unresolved. I’m going to use an older card to check if that fixes it.
Similar issues have occurred in games like Tarkov and Warzone, but recently the display simply turns black periodically, with no discernible gameplay occurring alongside error messages indicating event IDs 10016, 4101, and 7030.
