Within Fortnite, I typically achieve frame rates between 120 and 200, though these will occasionally decrease to approximately 90. Furthermore, after roughly two hours of gameplay, I begin experiencing input lag—the game feels unresponsive—however, when the system is initially powered on and launched, performance remains exceptionally smooth. Could you suggest potential reasons for this issue? Should I consider upgrading my central processing unit or graphics card? A friend possessing an i7-8700k and GTX 1080 consistently maintains frame rates of 200-240. My component temperatures never exceed 80 degrees Celsius.

A portion of the available memory has been reduced to conserve space, which is hindering performance. Increasing system RAM would improve this situation as I don't believe the problem lies with the processor or graphics card. With only 8GB of RAM previously, upgrading to 16GB (a non-high-speed variant) resulted in significantly higher frame rates and fewer pauses, due to the CPU being able to access data more efficiently.
