Frequently, my video games suddenly stop working, and occasionally my computer freezes as well. My operating system is current, my device drivers are updated, and I’m unaware of any hardware problems. What steps should I take?

A potential issue may stem from a system malfunction, possibly caused by a damaged Windows file. I’ve experienced similar occurrences where Payday 2 would cause crashes, subsequently infecting several other games with a similar issue. Have you considered reinstalling your operating system? This resolved my problem, though it necessitated erasing all of my data through a complete reinstallation. In my case, the system would simply power down immediately without any error messages – not even a blue screen. Reinstalling Windows frequently resolved these types of problems.

When the application fails, it switches to a desktop environment, whereas a personal computer malfunction will typically display “your pc encountered an issue…” The system utilizes an Intel Core i7-8700K processor, 16GB of RAM (BLE8G4D30AEEAK16F), a GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card, and storage provided by a Seagate ST2000DM001 hard drive alongside a Toshiba Q300 hard drive.

There might be an issue with the operating system itself, possibly due to a damaged Windows file. I’ve experienced similar occurrences where Payday 2 would cause my computer to crash, and subsequently other games became affected. Have you attempted reinstalling Windows? That resolved my situation, although it required erasing all of my data during a fresh installation. In my case, the system would simply power down without warning – no error message or blue screen appeared; it was an immediate shutdown. Reinstalling Windows frequently resolved these types of problems.
