My performance with Battlefield 5 is extremely poor. The game’s frame rate frequently lags dramatically, and my processor's utilization consistently reaches its maximum capacity. Occasionally, a simple reboot resolves the problem inexplicably, while other times it remains unresolved entirely. I’ve increased the task manager’s priority for this application, however, due to using a Razer mouse, I experience significant delays and jerky movements with my cursor.
Specs: Intel Core i5-7600k, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB WD Blue SSD

The Intel i5 7th generation processors are currently underperforming, particularly when paired with your system configuration. I’m experiencing significant performance limitations and frame rate fluctuations using an i5-7400 alongside an RTX 2060. It’s advisable to consider an upgrade, such as an Intel i7 8th or 9th generation processor, or explore options with AMD’s Ryzen 2700X. Alternatively, you could wait for the release of the Ryzen 3 series scheduled for July 9th.

The Intel i5 7th generation processors are currently performing poorly, particularly when paired with your system configuration. My i5-7400 combined with an RTX 2060 causes significant performance limitations and frame rate fluctuations. It’s advisable to consider an upgrade, perhaps with an Intel i7 from the 8th or 9th generation, or alternatively, explore Ryzen options like the 2700X, or anticipate the release of Ryzen 3 in early July.

I will need to purchase an entirely different board, as my Z170A does not accommodate processors beyond the i7 6th Generation.

Acquire a fresh skateboard, just as I have. Believe me, it will significantly improve your experience. Personally, I’ll be getting a new motherboard—a B450 model—and pairing it with a Ryzen 2700 processor.

I have the sense that Battlefield V’s frame rate problems aren't solely due to a processor upgrade. It feels like an overreaction, considering that other games run smoothly.

If all games besides Battlefield V operate smoothly, there’s likely an underlying issue. However, if you experience inconsistencies with your i5 7th generation processor – where some games perform well while others struggle – consider upgrading to a newer central processing unit.

The four-core processor will likely face difficulty processing BFV.

I’m considering purchasing an Intel Core i7-7700k processor, with a 4 core/8 thread configuration. Is it worth the investment, considering its approximate cost of $350?

According to the previous individual, Borderlands Forevermore and many high-end titles are experiencing difficulties on older quad-core processors. Considering the cost, I would instead purchase a new motherboard and acquire an R7 2700x or wait for the upcoming 3000 series graphics cards.
