Resolve PC failure to boot post BIOS upgrade
Hello, I recently replaced my USB dongle with a new networking adapter for my PC. The Asus PCE-AX3000 worked only when connected to PCIe1. I checked for possible fixes and found that an outdated BIOS could be the problem. I attempted an update during the Ryzen 5 1600 installation, following the manufacturer's steps: F2>F10>F20>F25>F30>F31>F40>F53d. Despite this, my Wi-Fi didn't function on any of those BIOS versions. However, with BIOS F31 I noticed Bluetooth became available again, though it went offline when switching to BIOS F40. The latest BIOS now prevents the PC from starting properly, keeps the VGA light on, and displays the Aorus logo with options like BIOS, system info, and QFLL. My keyboard lights up during boot but doesn't respond. I've tried resetting the motherboard by unplugging it overnight and clearing the CMOS with a screwdriver, but nothing helped. I don’t have any spare parts to test, so I’m stuck with this configuration. Additionally, I’ve experienced another issue: after powering off and replugging my PC, I need to clear the CMOS each time the POST fails due to DRAM issues, which I also had to do recently. My system runs: Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1060 6GB (Gigabyte Aorus), BIOS GA-AX370-Gaming-K5 rev 1.0, Crucial Ballistix 2x8GB, SilentiumPC Vero M2 600W.
Confirm the update was successful. Does the system support BIOS flashback?
Following each update I checked if the PC started up normally and it worked until F53d when it froze on VGU during POST. In BIOS it correctly read and updated the driver, then reset itself afterward. My motherboard doesn’t have flashback, but it has a backup BIOS chip. It also lacks QFlash plus, so I can’t perform regular Qflash because my keyboard doesn’t send any input.
There isn’t a standard method to flash BIOS or perform a blind flash directly from USB without a screen or keyboard. Such operations typically require specific hardware tools or specialized software.
