Resolve monitor problems due to adapters, assistance needed!
I just purchased two new Philips 241E9 FHD 75Hz IPS monitors at 24 inches, bringing my setup up to three free-sync displays. All three feature HDMI X2 and VGA outputs on the back panel (no display ports). Initially, I needed adapters because my GPU only supports one HDMI and three DisplayPort connections, forcing the monitors to go through an Astrotek adapter to enable Eyefinity. This caused problems—some monitors didn’t recognize free-sync even when not using Eyefinity. Even with the middle monitor supporting free-sync in various modes, tearing persisted in games regardless of settings like VSync or frame limiting. Windowed borderless mode didn’t help. If anyone has advice or solutions, it would be really appreciated. I spent a lot and it’s frustrating when things don’t work as expected.
Active connectors add latency, yet I’m confused about the need for them with both digital signals. It might help to use identical adapters across all displays, ensuring consistent delays if active ones are used.
