Hello, I understand you're wondering about how Steam adjusts your screen settings. With a 1440p monitor and GTX660 GPU, you might see discrepancies between the recommended resolution in Steam and what's displayed. It seems Steam automatically adapts based on your hardware, but sometimes it can lock to a lower resolution like 1080p. This behavior is common when the system prioritizes stability over maximum display quality.

I haven't come across Steam's previous actions. Which connection type are you employing? If it's DVI, the highest resolution achievable is 1080p.

My cable is linked to a 1440p display and another to a 1080p screen using an HDMI connection.

It seems both monitors might be configured for 1080p. Verify the settings in the control panel. If everything looks right, it could be the monitor driver issue. Sorry, I can't assist further here.

Thank you, but the display is configured for 1440p. Curious about that setting.
