Hello, I recently purchased this computer (assembled by the store – looks fine) for professional use and future readiness: AeroCool Atomic Lite V2 tower. Keep it quiet! System Power 9 500W CM 80+ Bronze BN301 PSU ASRock A620M-HDV/M.2+ motherboard (90-MXBLK0-A0UAYZ) AMD Ryzen 9 7900X processzor (100-100000589WOF) Be quiet! Pure Rock 2 black CPU cooler (BK007) Kingston FURY Beast 2x16GB 5200MHz DDR5 RAM (KF552C40BBK2-32) SAMSUNG 980 PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB MZ-V8V1T0BW Axagon PCEU-430VL 4 port USB3.2 extender PCI-Express card Yes, there’s no GPU and I’m not planning to add one. I intend to use it for everyday office tasks and run Windows 10 inside Virtualbox for applications that require only Windows. I bought more robust components than necessary, hoping to keep it functional for over five years, possibly adding more drives. I set up Pop_OS! 22.04 LTS and everything functioned properly except occasional self-resets. Once or twice a day, the machine would restart on its own—even when I wasn’t looking at it and no heavy programs were running. It wasn’t performing well, but it was stable. I installed Zorin OS 16.03 to test another OS, but the same resets occurred. What I’ve done so far suggests it’s not a major issue; the CPU temperature stayed around 44°C. I adjusted RAM settings in BIOS and even reduced speed to 4800, yet it still reset. Ran Memtest 86 and passed without errors after about two and a half hours. Since Zorin uses X11 by default, I tried the “xset -dpms” command and added it to startup. Yesterday it didn’t reset, but I’m unsure if that was coincidence or because I misconfigured the auto-start. If it resets again after running that command, I’ll switch to Wayland instead of X11. However, some features like dragging between windows and using Flameshot don’t work well. I didn’t touch the Linux kernel at all. I added a few Debian packages, Flatpaks, and btop from Snap. I didn’t use Windows 11 just to test for resets, even though it’s available as a dual-boot. I’m really frustrated but determined. Any advice on what to do next?

Verify all connections, reinsert every part, ensure one stick of RAM is used. Unplug the reset button, inspect for loose wires or metal parts.

Just a quick update: Ever since my opening post I have always ran the "xset -dpms" command upon booting into Zorin OS. No resets since then... As there were no problems, I didn't try the tips I got here yet and I'm thinking that this might in fact be an X11 bug. Will update in a few more days.

The issue appeared to be with the power source. Switched to another manufacturer and no further resets have occurred.
