Hi everyone, I chose to start fresh today since my computer was behaving strangely. I picked a full wipe and have been waiting about two hours now. Everything seemed normal until it hit 20% then everything froze. It’s been running for over an hour without any progress, and I’m unsure what happened. This is the first time I’ve done this, so I’m worried it might have crashed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. For reference, I built a second PC for a separate home after my parents separated, and I was trying to sync data. The sync process failed, so I decided to reset and wipe the drive (Seagate 2TB 7200rpm 256MB).

I wouldn't suggest using the Reset This PC option. If your system seems broken enough to need a clean slate, I doubt the local image is safe for reinstalling. It’s unclear whether Windows behaves like macOS in this scenario—downloading a brand-new OS copy. For better security, I’d opt for a safer approach: make a fresh Windows installation USB, format the drive, and then install from scratch.
