I have an old HP Pavilion G6 laptop and I need to perform a complete factory reset. I attempted it before, but it seems the system comes with pre-installed HP software which might bring in unwanted malware. It also has its own factory reset option, but it simply reinstalls all HP programs and Norton antivirus from the start. I’m aiming for a full Windows 7 reset so that HP software won’t automatically download anymore. I have a Windows 7 recovery disk too, but it doesn’t boot from it either—it jumps straight to the HP Recovery Manager, which offers the factory reset but at the expense of all HP software and potential malware. Would this be feasible?

The optimal approach is to proceed once the installation is complete and then remove it that way. Additionally, I discovered a potential software solution that hasn’t been tested yet. Here’s the link.

Obtain the ISO for complete Windows 7 is intended only for what the packaging advertises—it's a recovery tool. That's why you receive just the recovery interface. There are trusted sources where you can download full Windows 7. Some community members share detailed guides or blog posts with links. Avoid using official Microsoft downloads because your product key is tied to an OEM. Also, steer clear of bundled software from manufacturers as it may contain unwanted ads or threats.
