Requirements for Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX power supply
Hi forum
What power supply do I need for the Sapphire RX 7900 XTX Nitro+ with an i9 14900K? Will my 2018 Corsair RM1000i Gold be enough?
You can view my PC specs here: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/B264Yd
Thanks in advance, Mingusus
Hello
Mingusus
A seven year old 1,000 watt PSU is more than enough for your 14900K build with a RX 7900 XTX. By the way, I also reached out to Corsair support on your behalf, and they confirm what I said earlier. Enjoy gaming, my friend.

FYI: Your RM1000i comes with a 10 year warranty:
Upgrading your PSU is necessary for a premium setup. Do you have a budget and a place to buy it?
You don't need to replace your RM1000i that came with a 10 year warranty. That PSU is totally fine for your setup and you can use it for a couple of more years. Replacing about a year or 3 is early enough except if you upgrade the GPU to an upcoming high-end nVidia that needs two 12v-2x6 pin connectors.

P.S.: Your RM1000i is protected under a 10-year warranty:
While it might seem acceptable, keep in mind that power supplies deteriorate with use, and this is something no one will dispute. If you're investing in a high-end system with new parts, it's wise to include a reliable PSU. You're probably okay as is, but why take that chance? Stick with your existing PSU for backup and consider upgrading to a better one.
