Someone with a MAC can download a copy of any of these titles and upload it to Google Drive. - Mountain Lion - Mavericks - Yosemite - El Capitan I’m open to any of them... Or if you have a disk with it and can make a DMG of it, that would be perfect... I own a 2009 MacBook Pro A1286 (I don’t know how to identify it anymore except that) that came without a hard drive. I’ve added a drive, but all the downloads I’ve seen so far have been compromised or not recognized by the MacBook after burning to DVD. My suspicion is the files are corrupt, so I’d prefer a reliable, clean copy!!! Thanks James

This would violate the terms of service for Apple and the forum guidelines. Check the link provided: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/02/25...very-mode/

There NOTHING illegal about reinstalling an OS onto a computer that had it before... And the media itself isn't what is protected, its the licencing that goes with it, which the Mid 2009 MacBook Pro that had a Hard Drive failure that needs MAC OS reinstalled, Has!!! That's why I specified a Good, Clean, Copy, and not one that was Hacked to run on a PC without a license. And the reason I don't care which version it is, is because once its up and running again, I can easily download ANY of those versions from the Apple Store to upgrade or downgrade the macbook as I deem necessary... I'm glad I was able to clearly answer your questions... lol

Thanks for the suggestion, but I believe this MacBook isn't up-to-date enough for that... When I attempt to follow the steps in the link, nothing changes. It just starts up with an image of a file containing a question mark. I really need a disk. I was even told this older model doesn't support booting from USB, so it must be the Mac OS DVD to reinstall.
