AMD's orrrrrrr could enable suppliers to design a tailored BIOS for Ryzen 4000 processors on chipsets lacking support for multiple CPU generations.

It’s obvious there’s no technical reason to abandon older chipset support or break commitments. Flash memory capacity isn’t a technical concern since firmware can include any CPU features AMD chooses—like dropping Summit Ridge Generation to add Vermeer support without issues.

Currently, I’m okay with the board switch. Adding PCIE Gen 4 support is already significant. Think about future GPUs and storage devices moving data at the highest possible speed. AMD is delaying some CPU features to extend AM4 support, so it seems they’re ready to transition to a new chipset soon.

Hey, but remember that PCIe Gen 4 is compatible with older AM4 motherboards and was removed artificially the same way as support for Zen 3...
