When I joined ACC, I wanted to check how things were going. Is it normal for the CPU to be using 80-95%? My machine is a Ryzen 7 3700X, I’m running near maximum settings in games with an MSI 2070 Super OC and I have a 850W power supply. I mentioned I’ve just begun PC gaming, and I think the yellow warning light is what’s causing me to worry. Thanks.

You can operate it fully and as long as temperatures remain stable, there’s no concern needed.

Sorry, I didn’t include that in the photo I took with my bad phone. I just checked and it shows about 50°C, which is around 90°C—still within the safe range. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly!

It seems the power consumption isn't an issue if it handles that much; otherwise, temperatures are the main concern. A 50°C on a 3700x in-game is quite high. Where are you monitoring your temperatures?

You're all right. The chip won't slow down until it hits 90°C. For idle periods, you don't have to be concerned unless the readings seem too high—like 60°C with all cores and threads off. A solid method to check full load temperatures is by performing a stress test like Prime95 or OCCT, or just a few Cinebench runs.

I attempted a rendering test but wasn't able to locate one.
