I assembled my new PC today and some folks advised me to cap the RAM in BIOS, warning it might lead to problems. Is this accurate? The Trident Z5 6400MHz with CL32 RAM link provided shows no such restrictions.

Review the manual for memory compatibility on both the CPU and motherboard. Keep your RAM settings at or below the recommended limit for safety. Exceeding this compatibility range might cause the system to fail to start or lead to frequent crashes.

The information suggests limiting the speed based on the available memory type. If the BIOS supports up to DDR5 5600 MT/s but your motherboard only recognizes 5600 CL36 and 38, you should cap the speed accordingly.

What you mentioned matches the situation, yet setting the RAM limit in BIOS doesn't cause a boot.

Most budget systems have a limit around that amount.
