Dell XPS8700, WIN 7, HP6980dt printer.
My printer is running low on ink and I’m considering buying new cartridges that might not work with Win7 or purchasing a different printer without drivers. Wireless printing is appealing, but since I use it infrequently, I can easily connect the printer to my PC via USB. I prefer not to buy an all-in-one device and don’t need faxing or multiple copies. I also don’t require a smartphone for installation. No immediate solutions needed—just advice on fixing this issue.
Thanks

I noticed affordable "off brand/refurb" ink cartridges available under $20 easily. The tri-color option is cheaper than black when priced below $10. We source all our ink from a store off Amazon for our Brother devices. "Linkyo" has been very reliable for us.

Look near your nearby office supply shops. If you rarely print, they might offer printing for a small fee per page.
