I understand your perspective before diving into this. Let's stay open-minded as we consider the points being made. Regardless of your opinion on the uploader or the content, the issue remains important. Supporting the petition is a way to express our stance, especially since Burger King emphasized the need for choice. https://www.change.org/p/jerry-berg-micr...windows-10 Edited April 14, 2017 by Mike Soda

I ceased watching Barnacules' videos once it was clear he was consuming from the telemetry buffet.

Similar to any operating system, problems can arise. It’s not uncommon for any OS—Linux or Apple—to have issues. Are you currently using Windows 10?

Didn't move to Windows 10 because of the telemetry data. Was thinking about upgrading, but preferred to wait until those who fix bugs removed everything. However, it looks like they made a lot of changes, so those bug creators now have to start fresh. Strong negative opinion from me. Also, if Microsoft offered an option to completely disable telemetry, I'd doubt they would, given their past behavior.

Currently Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 isn't available for an Athlon X2 260. For the 1500X I only have Windows 10 as a viable choice. While there are methods to reduce telemetry data, I believe Microsoft shouldn't be exempt from these standards. Updated April 14, 2017 by Mike Soda corrected a previous note.

It's accurate, though the amount gathered remained extremely low even after disabling everything. I didn't feel the need to put in much effort.

The main issue with the telemetry is that it consumes my bandwidth, many ISPs impose limits, and I don’t want to waste data on tracking my personal information. I’m unsure if Microsoft will cover the extra charges. B) I believe it’s unfair that Microsoft should not offer an opt-out choice.

It appears to be a relevant discussion, but the conversation has become less active.
