Request for cooler advice regarding question 6600k
Yes, the VX550 was a reasonable budget power supply initially, but its last review was in 2007. This suggests the unit was likely made at least seven years prior, possibly ten to twelve years ago. Ten years is too long, and even seven years is more than I’d like to see it in use. Considering its age, replacement seems necessary.
If you bought this one new or old stock, when did you get it?
How long has the unit been operating, as far as I know?
Please share your complete system details, including CPU, motherboard, memory, graphics card, and storage devices.
Hi again. I've got Scythe Mugen installed and am ready to push it overclock. Need some general advice.
For your setup:
I bought two identical PSUs from a hardware store around 2011-2012, though I can't be sure with certainty. The latest one came out three years ago and has been running for about a year now. My usage has been mostly limited to my laptop during that time.
Details:
- MSI Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon
- i5 6600K
- GSKill Aegis 16GB (2x8, 3000MHz)
- GTX670
- SSD, HDD, external USB HDD
- Two gaming mice, keyboard, USB headset
- No case fans.
A quick guide would be helpful, but I don’t want to share specifics about my configuration.
