Make sure you save the installer on a USB drive and plug it into your system during startup via UEFI. The device should detect it automatically.

Save the installer to your usual downloads directory, then execute it. It will present a choice to generate media, followed by prompts for specifying the storage location and format.

To proceed, I require a Windows 8.1 ISO file... That’s exactly what I’ve mentioned all along.

Don't upgrade that idea. It seems like a waste of space. If you manage to get a Windows 8.1 disc and a functional machine, make an ISO file either by using a burning tool (like CyberLink or Roxio with the copy disc option) or follow this guide. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/software-t...e-file.htm Assuming you install without the disc means downloading it from a torrent—if you have a serial, that’s usually fine as long as you’re not using a modified version or bypassing registration. I can’t promise it’s always safe, so do your own research (search online). If the torrent route isn’t okay for you, borrow someone else’s disc, create an ISO, and use a bootable USB with your real serial when you activate. If you prefer not to spend money on an OS, consider OSX or Linux instead.

Install it, when prompted for the cd key don't type any key in, at the bottom of the page you'll see a check box "activate when I'm connected to the internet" un-check this box and click next, when in windows go to that windows 8 upgrade page and enter your windows 8 key and boom you're done. Note: this is a legit copy of windows 7 that allows you 30 days use with no cd-key after 30 days you'd need to purchase a key or uninstall.

Thanks, but the process seems too complex. I was hoping for a straightforward ISO image. Unfortunately, that's not available right now... Thanks! I'll remember to use this in two weeks. (If I can't locate any Windows 8.1 ISO files) Cheers!
