Reproduce CoD Advanced Warfare
Reproduce CoD Advanced Warfare
I own an 850 Pro 256Gb SSD with drive D, where I've installed BF4, PvZ GW, and this CoD AW. Recently I got a WD Black HD. Now I can easily move the Battlefield installation folder to another location and it rechecks the setup from Origin, downloading less than 50Mb by itself—a nice feature. The CoD AW is my first ever CoD game. I need to free up space on my SSD and run this game on the Black Drive. Can someone guide me? Should I just copy the CoD folder to the Black Drive and let Steam handle the rest? Or is there another way? With an 8Mbps internet connection, re-downloading it would take at least two days since it's over 50Gb total.
you don't have to set it up on an ssd since it's already on an hdd and there are no issues there. maybe on an ssd it would load faster, but that wasn't your concern. you can simply go to the lower left corner, add a game, find the install folder, and it should work. i don’t know about multiplayer or updates, so i’d recommend trying it again.
1) To create a fresh Steam library, you need 2) relocate the game to a different folder 3) start the game; Steam should recognize and transfer it (you might have to remove the original files and ask for a download again, then pick the new library, which will identify the updated files)
Open the Steams library folder settings. Navigate to Downloads, then Steam Library Folders. Create a new folder in black and confirm. Steam will generate an appdata folder on the new drive, allowing you to transfer your existing games from the SSD to this location and free up space.
