Hey there! I've been enjoying Skyrim SE for a few weeks now and everything seems fine. But today while battling an Elder Dragon, it would land super fast—just slamming into the ground without its wings flapping. This caused a huge drop from 30fps to just 1 fps, sometimes lingering until I pressed alt-f4 to exit. It's the worst lag I've ever experienced since I started. The only times it dropped lower was to 29fps. I've fought dragons before and never had this issue, even after lowering my settings from ultra to high. I've tested my OC stability and everything looks good.

My mod list is:
- Mods: 0 0 Skyrim.esm 1 Update.esm 2 Dawnguard.esm 3 HearthFires.esm 4 Dragonborn.esm 5 unofficial Skyrim Special Edition patch.esp 6 BSAssets.esm 7 BSHeartland.esm 8 BSPatchSE.esp 9 BS_DLC_patch.esp 10 a Falskaar.esm 11 Cutting Room Floor.esp 12 static mesh improvement mod se.esp 13 Vivid Weathersse.esp 14 Helgen Reborn.esp 15 Undeath.esp
16 ordinator - perks of Skyrim.esp 17 Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp 18 inigo.esp 19 immersive patrols ii.esp 20 sofiafollower.esp 21 forgottencity.esp 22 icepenguinworldmap.esp 23 Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp 24 CaesiaFollower.esp 25 apocalypse - magic of Skyrim.esp
26 Fantasy Soundtrack Project.esp 27 Combat.esp 28 Ordinator compatibility patch.esp 29 Immersive Citizens - AI overhaul.esp 30 Relationship dialogue overhaul.esp
31 rdo - CRF + ussep patch.esp
Specs: GTX 1050 Ti SC FX8300 3.9ghz (oc) 8 GB DDR3 RAM 2 HDDs in Raid 0 (sorry if this isn't the right place, I'm new here).

I believe your graphics card is getting too hot. Do you have enough cooling solutions installed?

Have you considered reducing the graphics options to their minimum to resolve the crash in your game?

I have five fans installed and reviewed the temperatures; it seems there might be more to consider. Appreciate your consideration!

You can always attempt to reinstall the game; I've encountered similar problems before.

I used the weakest option and it seems to halt; though it doesn’t explain why it’s been running smoothly until now. (I also observed it occurs just when the dragon touches the ground and releases particles.)

No, I haven't updated any GPU drivers or the game yet.

It might help if you tried it anyway, though my connection isn’t great. I’d rather use this only if necessary.

I put in Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, but it doesn’t seem to work anywhere except the main game area.

It seems the issue stems from your hardware limitations and Skyrim's lack of optimization. Consider reducing settings or removing some intensive mods.
