Reporting Asus 10GbE problems.
Recent issues with my setup include a sudden network cable disconnection, even when using the onboard adapter. Both 10GbE and 3GbE cards reported this problem randomly. The 10GbE card also had its port cables unplugged unexpectedly. I’ve tested all ports and confirmed they work fine. I’m connected to a LAN, public Wi-Fi, and P2P server, all on separate subnets. I cleaned ports, tried different cables, reinstalled drivers, and adjusted power settings, but the issue persists. The network indicator stays off, and no lights appear on the card or ports. It seems the problem might be software-related rather than hardware faulty.
It seems there might be an issue with the network adapter. If you've tested all three cables and the problem persists, it's likely the NIC isn't working properly. Another possibility is that using the 1 Gig Ethernet port might block the 10 Gig port because it's not active, and the system resists switching between them.
However, this impacts both the add-on card and the internal NIC. It starts functioning unexpectedly. It seems to be a Windows-related problem. I suspect a flaw in the power management system that causes it to shut down even when disabled.
I bought two Asus 10GbE NICs around a year and a half ago. From the start, both devices complained the cable was unplugged in various systems. I never managed to get them operational. When the same cable connected to my onboard LAN, it worked immediately. Eventually, I had to return them for replacement. I switched to a TP Link 10GbE card and an Intel X550 10GbE card, both of which performed perfectly. Just a heads-up, this isn't very useful, but I've encountered similar problems before.
