Hello, After relocating across the country I attempted to restart my gaming PC and found it wouldn't boot into Windows. I spent some time diagnosing and discovered one of my NVMe SSDs was faulty—the one with Windows installed. Since I need to recover my Witcher 3 save files, I continued troubleshooting. Eventually, the BIOS detected the Windows Installation Manager on what appeared to be a dead drive, allowing me to boot from it. The system displayed a Windows error screen indicating it couldn't connect to a device and showed the error code "0xc000000e". I searched online and tried several solutions: I used a Windows installation media (Windows 10 Home edition) instead of my PC's Windows 10 Pro, then launched recovery media. First I ran the built-in Windows repair tool but it didn't help. Next, I opened the command prompt and executed DISKPART to check drive health—it was fine. Following some recommendations, I ran various boot and recovery commands. Some steps triggered issues: 'bootrec/scanos' didn't find a Windows 10 installation, 'fixboot' said access was denied, and 'rebuildbcd' also didn't locate a Windows 10 install. Fortunately, 'fixmbr' performed some changes. It seems I need to contact the game developer for help with my save files. My Witcher 3 data is really important!
