Hello, I've recently assembled my new PC and installed the BIOS on the motherboard's back. Despite everything working fine, the machine won't boot and displays a QCODE 12 DRAM error. I attempted to reset the CMOS from the back, removed the battery, took out a stick of RAM, and even stripped down the graphics card and all components except the CPU, but nothing worked. I re-flashed the BIOS without success. I double-checked the RAM compatibility on the Asus website and confirmed the serial numbers match. I've tried everything and still can't figure it out. Could you offer some guidance?

manual reference: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LG...?model=ROG STRIX Z790-E GAMING WIFI II page A-5
Try reinstalling RAM. Remove both modules, place one in slot A2, and see if it boots. Wait for startup. If unsuccessful, erase CMOS. Consider re-seating the CPU carefully—avoid forcing it. When working inside the case, lay the PC flat for safety.

I completed everything you suggested in the reply thread, but the QCode error returned again at 12 with a DRAM LED. I removed the CPU, RAM, and CMOS battery, waited 5 to 10 minutes, then reinserted them and reflashed using the BIOS renamer. Restarted the PC with only the CPU active—QCode showed 00.

You mentioned adding one RAM stick to slot A2 and restarting again. After a few minutes, QCode returned to 55. The issue seems related to the NVMe SSD you installed; it might be interfering with booting.

This shouldn't affect anything. 12 is one of the initial POST codes during memory training, if it's stuck there it means the RAM isn't trying to be trained. It could suggest a dead motherboard, though a faulty CPU memory controller is also a possibility. I'd begin by retrieving and swapping the motherboard.

Intel might say it's a lengthy process, around a minute or longer, @Lazertk. However, if reinserting RAM triggers a "RAM not found" message, it suggests the RAM may be poorly seated or completely dead, or the board itself is faulty.

They mentioned it would pause for 3 to 5 minutes on the 12 code before moving to 55. Since the 12 code needs only a few seconds to activate, it seems the device is malfunctioning.

Removed the motherboard and all parts, then repositioned everything and inserted a single RAM stick into the B2 slot. Errors 12 and 55 are resolved. A new code A2 appears related to a weak connection with the SATA ports. The NVMe drive is in the 5th slot, enabling use of all four SATA ports on the board. The image displays both SATA ports correctly positioned at the top. Qcode error lights show white for VGA Yellow during boot.

I noticed a new script appeared while I was planning to perform another BIOS refresh using 1 stick of RAM. Qcode D7

I finally posted it after installing the extra RAM. Now I just have to tweak the BIOS settings and try it with both configurations.
