Hello everyone, I noticed a horizontal line appearing near the top of my screen today. Someone could help determine if it's related to my monitor or GPU. I've verified the video cable connections and the cable itself—no problems there. Apart from that, the line isn't visible on my screen shots either. Everything else seems fine.

Probably a display problem. Is there anything else you can connect to the monitor, such as a laptop, console, or built-in graphics from the motherboard?

I thought the problem was with the monitor. It’s now nine years old, so I’ll connect it to another PC.

This strongly suggests a monitor-related problem. A GPU failure typically causes more noticeable issues, while a single line on the screen is often seen with a failing monitor. You can test by connecting your PC to another monitor—if the line disappears, it supports a monitor issue.

You have an old backup monitor ready for testing, plus another PC available for testing.

It appears the monitor is the issue. I switched to another PC and still got the same line.
