Replacing an HDD with one housed in an external case
I purchased a 4TB Seagate HDD and a Sabrent external case to back up his files from the original PC drive. I formatted the new HDD using Disk Management and moved all his data to the external drive. After switching devices, it displayed an MBR instead of a GPT, showing 2TB used and 2TB unallocated. The drive disappeared from File Explorer and was grayed out in Disk Management, preventing further formatting. When the old HDD was placed back inside, it completely vanished. We require a reliable backup method to transfer his files and complete the switch. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
