I previously posed the inquiry, it was addressed multiple times (now three responses). Updated on November 6, 2025 by leclod.

Ah, it's clear how this might cause confusion when similar topics appear in another sub-forum.

Indeed, it appears the problem likely stems from the hardware, not F@H itself, which suggests it was shared in the appropriate category.

It seems you're considering "Fold@home" with clear visuals for a possible T-Tk project. The idea appears promising, though the approach needs refinement.

Memtest86 confirmed successful results. I plan to reinstall everything upon returning home—perfect timing for a touch-up, as it's been a short wait. It's odd that only folding causes the crash. I also ran firmware updates and played Outer Worlds 2 for a few hours without any problems.

It seems you're referring to testing tools like Prime95 or OCCT. Would you like more information about either of them?

I'll test Prime95 today—it's likely the only one I can spare. How long should I keep running OCCT? I've never used that tool before. Seems like some recommend running it for an hour, others suggest 12 hours.

Have you refreshed your BIOS recently? The latest versions often include PBO by default, which can cause the CPU temperature to rise gradually when the processor runs at full capacity. To address this, turning off PBO is recommended—it may reduce performance by 1-2% but will keep temperatures more stable. Disabling it can be challenging, so consider following a detailed guide for proper execution. Regarding your graphics card, based on my experience with crypto-mining, it's advisable to cap its power output (e.g., at 90% or -10%) using tools like MSI Afterburner. This helps maintain efficiency and prevents overheating. You might not see a noticeable impact on game performance, but you'll likely improve cooling effectiveness. Enjoy your day!

I confirmed the upgrade to the 5700x earlier this year and plan to try it out, though I didn’t see any temperature increase on HWMonitor during last night’s test. All components stayed at or below 92°C under full load.
