I'm unsure what to do but I've tried two Seasonic Focus GX-650s (650W) over the past year. Frustrated by the seeming disposability of their power supplies, I purchased a Corsair CX750M (750W), installed it with the included cables, and tried booting it up. It lights on but doesn't function properly. Anyone have any suggestions? Specs: motherboard MSI Tomahawk B450 Max CPU Ryzen 5 3600 GPU Zotac GTX 1070 8GB

Disconnect the power switch and connect the pins directly to the motherboard.

Connect the connection with a narrow wire at the "Power SW" location.

You're likely dealing with a wiring issue. It's wise to bring it to a nearby tech specialist who can check the area directly and help identify the problem. Alternatively, try removing any extra components like fan controllers, mouse/keyboard, case headers, or RGB parts in hopes of resolving it without a hardware issue.

You might need a screwdriver, flathead, key, or coin to connect the parts. The issue could also stem from the incoming voltage in your home power supply. Additionally, without a surge protector between the power source and wall outlet, the device may be damaged.

I tried connecting it again, but it kept failing to power up even after the surge protector was used. I'm going to attempt it once more.

You could test various components with a multimeter, such as voltage levels, continuity, and resistance.

It makes sense to stop using the surge protector by cutting power to the computer and connecting it straight to the outlet.
