Reported that the HDMI port on my old Dell XPS 9550 was damaged by lightning. Decided to upgrade to a Dell XPS 15 9520 which lacks an HDMI port but includes an adapter. Consider swapping the HDMI to DVI cable instead, as it functioned on a previous Chromebook. Avoid using the same HDMI to DVI cable on this new model.

If it's a good adapter, why not use it? Also, did you mean lightning instead of thunder? Thunder is rapid decompression of air pockets and is simply sound waves.
