I think signing into a Microsoft account with Windows activated might trigger activation, but verify the details (and look at Linux tutorials showing pirated Windows usage).

Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery, choose "Reset this PC," confirm removing everything, ensure the secure erase option is selected, and follow the prompts. This will erase all data while keeping your information safe. It may take some time.

It functions properly when using the identical Microsoft account before and after resetting. Skipping this step may cause you to lose your key, as I've observed.
