I just added an MSI 3090TI to my setup. A few days later I started seeing lower frame rates in games such as FIFA 23 and League of Legends, which wasn’t surprising given the 3090TI’s specs... I assumed the issue was related to insufficient power delivery from the GPU (my PSU is 750W). I opened MSI Afterburner and adjusted the fan curve to lower the voltage, thinking it would help performance. Unfortunately, this made the frame rates worse. I also noticed that when watching FIFA on my main screen while streaming a movie on the secondary display, the video became very choppy. After removing and reinstalling the afterburner and updating the GPU drivers, the problem persisted—stuttering continued and the fan curve reset didn’t fix it. I’m guessing my PSU might not be strong enough for this new GPU, or perhaps my CPU is now limiting performance? This seems like the first issue I’ve encountered... Thanks for any advice.

Specs: AMD 5600X MSI 3090TI 32GB RAM MSI MAG B550 MSI 750 PSU 1x WD 1TB HDD 1x WD 2TB HDD Samsung 1TB 970 EVO PLUS Gigabyte 256GB M.2 SSD

Running RivaTuner during games helps identify performance issues by displaying CPU and GPU usage, power consumption, temperatures, etc. Also, check if you adjusted other settings or only modified the fan curve—changing these parameters may not improve your gaming experience. You might need to tweak target power, clock speed, memory speed, etc.
