Repeated Restarts During Gameplay Resolved
I improved my two-year-old gaming rig to a 5900x (including the BIOS update) and an A4070 recently, and everything is functioning smoothly. The PSU was replaced with an MSI MPG A850G. Other system details include an MSI B550 Gaming Edge Wi-Fi (two years old), a 16GB Vengeance LX DDR4 3200MHz (two years old), a Wraith Prism cooler (new), a 500GB NVMe drive (two years old), and a 1TB HDD (two years old). I also switched to Windows 11 recently.
While downloading the Finals, my computer would restart during animations after each match. After several restarts, I repositioned the GPU, RAM, and all cables. I reinstalled the drivers and ran the Windows memory checker, but the problem kept occurring. I disabled and reinstalled the display drivers, then ran MSI Afterburner overlay while playing—temperatures were normal. The GPU was at 99% usage, which was unusual for me. This was the first game where it restarted and triggered the VGA debugging light red. I’m unsure why this only happened on a particular screen in a specific game.
