I've been searching for a while but couldn't locate the answer. Unintentionally I clicked the "never show this message again" option after pressing alt+f4, which now stops any window from opening without showing the dialog. I've also tried checking the registry to enable it, but it hasn't worked. Anyone have a solution? Thanks!

This function typically does not display a confirmation window.

The sole standard window notification I’m familiar with is pressing Alt+F4 when nothing is running, prompting Windows to ask about shutdown. Other alerts depend on the app in question.

Thanks for the feedback. For me, Office Apps, Chrome, Matlab, and other tools all had warning dialogs saying "Are you sure you want to quit?" along with a "never show this message again" option. I’m not sure why, but it was a standard practice. It helped me stay safe when I was in the middle of something important and pressing Ctrl+Alt+F4 could end what I was doing. Still, I’ll need to be more cautious with shortcuts now. Thanks!

The only alert that appears is about closing more than one tab at once in your web browser (this depends on the browser and may not be standard), along with unsaved changes. This isn't a Windows function—when you press Alt+F4, the program you were using will immediately end, often saying "Oh wait wait..." to Windows before either showing a message or closing cleanly.
