Reorganizing key positions within one keyboard design
You have two keyboard layouts: US international and Croatian standard. The former uses QWERTY, the latter QWERTZ. You can switch between them easily with Alt+Shift, but you want Z and Y to stay in their original positions. Remapping them would cause confusion. In Win10 (and possibly Ubuntu) it’s possible to adjust layouts or create custom ones based on existing ones. Let me know if you’d like guidance on that.

So right when I wrote this I discovered the tool, naturally. I ended up designing a fresh layout based on the US standard—meaning the one they use domestically. I added the five characters you need and reorganized the symbols around the CRO keyboard layout. This way, switching between layouts is smooth, and I usually stick to the US standard unless I’m writing in Croatian, which I can toggle with Win+space. The perfect combination!
I chose US standard because its formatting works better for me compared to my native setup. I had to adapt since QWERTY was the default. Was this decision based on the overall layout, or specifically the placement of brackets and colons/semicolons?
