I am using an older desktop that runs Windows 11 and has a built-in antivirus called Windows Defender. My memory check is turned off in the settings because of two incompatible drivers I don't know why are there. These two drivers, ssudbus.sys and ssudmdm.sys, belong to a Samsung phone I bought but never connected to this PC. I tried deleting them from Device Manager but couldn't find them listed anywhere, even though they shouldn't be hiding there. The other driver is atikmpag.sys which relates to my graphics card, so I haven't touched it yet because the two others are blocking everything else from working.
To fix the ATI driver problem, I suggest downloading DDU from HERE and rebooting to Safe Mode first. Then run the program and remove any old versions of those drivers. That should fix the issue with the ATI driver. When it comes to Samsung mobile device drivers, you can try finding them in Add or Remove Programs (if they are listed there). I took out those Samsung drivers by installing a new one then taking them away again. Then I tried to take out two ATI drivers but couldn't boot into safe mode at all. When I try to pick Safe Mode, my keyboard won't work. I pressed 4 for safe mode and nothing happens even after waiting a minute. I tried other options too and nothing worked. EDIT: The keyboard just wasn't working because it was disabled in the BIOS for some reason. I turned it on along with the mouse and removed the GPU drivers using DDU, then enabled memory integrity. Are you using a wireless keyboard? It doesn't happen often but it could have messed up the driver for your wireless keyboard when you entered Safe Mode depending on who made that keyboard. Worse case scenario, boot back into normal mode, and search the System32 and the System32\drivers folder for those two ATI files and see if it finds them.
It's a wired keyboard. I uninstalled my GPU drivers under safe mode and turned memory integrity back on. Now Windows isn't letting me install the GPU driver because of that setting. I was planning to install it manually, but there is no AMD Radeon 5800 listed for download anywhere online. I saw 5700s and 5600s, but not 5800s. I checked the legacy drivers section too. My choices seem limited: either use a basic driver that looks ugly and turn memory integrity off to let Windows install it, or buy a new GPU which might actually work if you replace the old one.

I'll try that too. I see Windows 11 isn't even on my list, so maybe picking Windows 10 would help? EDIT: I actually installed the Windows 10 64-bit version and it did install, but nothing changed at all. Windows keeps telling me to use a resolution of 1024x768 when it should be 1920x1080. I tried updating my GPU driver in Device Manager, but it starts installing then stops with a message that the driver can't load on this device. That specific driver was stopping me from turning memory integrity on in Defender.
It's almost impossible to get a driver for a GPU from 2009 without getting an error. You have Windows 11 on there and Defender is causing the issue, right? Try switching to another antivirus instead. This might fix it: https://www.bitdefender.com.au/solutions/free
I put Bitdefender on my computer and signed up for the free 30 day security test. The graphics card software wouldn't start. I had to stop Windows Defender from checking things, then restart my PC. Suddenly the GPU driver worked perfectly. Does turning off memory protection matter even if Bitdefender is active?
