Removing overclocking suggestions
Removing overclocking suggestions
I'm working on music production and recently purchased components for a new build PC. I noticed details about my 8G DDR3 1866MHz not being compatible with my ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard when using the AMD FX 4170 CPU, especially if overclocking happens. Can I disable overclocking?
From the Asus website:
* The AMD FX Series CPU on this motherboard is compatible with DDR3 1866MHz as its standard memory speed.
This means you won't be able to achieve higher clock speeds. By default, it isn't overclocked, so no need to disable anything.

Request from thomasbell4711: Seeking details on overclocking removal. Could anyone clarify the steps needed to disable overclocking on my system? I want to understand exactly what to do in my BIOS or motherboard manual. Specifically, I have an M5A78L-M/USB3 motherboard and an AMD FX 4170 CPU with 8G 1866Hz DDR3 RAM. If possible, could someone with experience assist me? Thank you.
