I removed the unwanted Music Place app from my old laptop during a spring cleaning. Now I have a deleted icon on my desktop that won’t delete. I’ve used shift + delete, checked ownership in the context menu, but there’s no solution shown. Anyone have suggestions? Thanks, bai

Yes, you can place files in a folder and then remove them from that location.

Yes, you can move it to the recycle bin, place it there, and then right-click the bin to select empty.

Another way: Open Windows Explorer and locate your desktop folder. Check if you can remove it using that method. Ensure hidden or system files are enabled.

Some utilities remove the most troublesome files using tools like FileASSASSIN and LockHunter, while the remaining ones can be deleted via TrustedInstaller.
