I notice a lot of drivers installed that aren’t needed anymore, and it’s been bothering me for a while. I’ve tried different methods, but I’m looking for a fast, straightforward solution to clean up unused devices on my system.

Launch Device Manager. Navigate to View > Show hidden devices. Remove any entries with semi-transparent icons. Have fun!

I’ve used this approach before and felt a bit unsure about certain steps. There’s nothing you need to avoid completely, but be careful with semi-transparent elements—just wipe them clean if needed. Windows will handle the cleanup automatically once the item is removed again. Just make sure you’re not touching anything critical while doing it.

If you detach any connected items, reconnect or restart and Windows will reidentify them. You might have to reinstall device drivers based on the equipment.
