I'm not sure, but I had to clear some dust from my PC and thought removing the RAM would help. I've never taken RAM out before, so I removed one stick with a retention clip still attached. Could this have affected my RAM slot or the RAM itself?

Which motherboard are you using? Most current boards feature just one clip at the top and bottom, with a static base.

It's MSI Z370 Gaming Plus. It has two units, and I'm curious if I could have repaired my PC.

The video still functions after manual engagement. It’s likely your RAM wasn’t fully seated correctly initially.

All components function properly. I'm mainly concerned about possible harm to the slot or the RAM stick.

Maybe, though improbable. You'll understand only after reinstalling the RAM stick and starting up.

Just give it a shot. What's the most likely outcome?

My visual output appears normal, but I’m not achieving the results I anticipated from my new GPU. I’m not reaching the benchmark scores I expected.

It depends on what's causing the issue—whether it's related to GPU performance or RAM speed.
