Hi, thank you for sharing your situation. I understand you tried removing the gnome package to get back to a terminal-only setup, but now you're left with just gnome shell. Since you're not home, you can reinstall just the gnome shell and continue working. I’m curious if there’s a simple command to install all default Zorin OS packages, including gnome and its extensions. Also, regarding the tray icons not showing up, it seems you might have forgotten to reinstall the interface—checking that could help.

I updated the installation command by using "sudo apt install *zorin*"
