I work with a personal Windows login on my machine. While managing settings for my son’s child account, it appears connected to my local Windows profile. Finding a way to separate them feels challenging. The only option seems to be restoring data to revert changes.

Previously, I performed that action about a year ago. Your information currently offers options to confirm, handle my Microsoft account, and set up a new one.

You see this interface when you click on managing your Microsoft account. It takes you to the Microsoft site for handling accounts there. Previously, you could detach accounts easily. Restoring from backups didn’t help, so you might need to set up a new local admin account and remove the existing one.

Check your account details now. Restoring the system will modify system files, while personal files and configuration settings remain untouched except for program installations or updates.

Yes, you need to confirm the account before deleting it. That sounds unusual.
